Flinn Foundation commits $5.52M to College of Medicine – Phoenix

The Flinn Foundation has committed $5.5 million over five years to strengthen the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix's investment in translational research in cardiovascular diseases, neurosciences and mental health. The gift also will support pipeline training and education, as well as innovative research and development. "The College of Medicine – Phoenix is grateful to the Flinn Foundation for this remarkable gift. We are excited to expand our long-standing collaboration and shared goals of investing in innovations that help build healthy communities," said Guy Reed, dean of the College of Medicine – Phoenix.

UArizona College of Pharmacy Receives Gift to Support Students in Dual Pharmacy-Nursing Degree Program

The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy has been awarded a $1.4 million grant from the Flinn Foundation to fund scholarships within a first-of-its-kind dual-degree program offering students the opportunity to simultaneously earn Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Science in Nursing degrees along with a family nurse practitioner certificate.

A new endowed chair at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix will be funded through the support of friends of the college and a $2 million gift from Dr. Harlan Stone and his late wife, Jean. Stone is a retired surgeon who practiced at Good Samaritan Hospital, which is now Banner – UMC Phoenix.
